Fynbos Stays (“we”, “us”) manages short-term rental properties in Cape Town. This policy explains what personal information we collect from property owners and guests, why, and what rights you have over it.
2. Information we collect
Contact details (name, email, phone), property details, proof-of-ownership documents for owner onboarding, booking and payment details for guests, and any communications with our team.
3. How we use it
To manage bookings and properties, communicate with owners and guests, meet legal and tax obligations, and coordinate with cleaning and tourism partners strictly as needed to deliver the service.
4. Legal basis & POPIA
We process personal information in accordance with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Where guests or owners are based in the EU or UK, we apply equivalent GDPR safeguards.
5. Sharing with third parties
Cleaning staff, maintenance contractors, payment processors, and vetted tourism partners only receive the information needed to perform their part of the service.
6. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for, or as required by South African tax and property law.
